Contributor to Voices

Maya Nalawade goes to Darien High school in Darien, CT. However, she has lived all over the place. Besides the U.S. she has grown up in India and the Netherlands. She loves writing poetry and is currently a first-reader in the Polyphony community. At school she is editor-in-chief of her own school’s literary magazine, president of the schoo’s creative writing clun, and has been published in Teen Ink and HEBE. This summer she participated in the Juniper Young Writers program in Amhearst and was inspired by the diversity of writing around her. If she’s not writing poetry she’s usually singing, listening to anything from Bollywood to Beyonce, or watching movies (which means she’s probably watching Midnight in Paris for the 100th time).
