Isabella “Izzy” Cho is a rising junior at North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka, Illinois, a school that, for those living in the suburbs of Chicago, can best be identified as “that really small private school next to New Trier.” As an Executive Editor at Polyphony Lit, Izzy loves being a member of the editing community because engaging with the work of her brilliant peers never ceases to inspire her and encourage her to develop her unique literary voice.

No matter what profession she chooses in the future, Izzy believes that words will always play an integral role in her life because narrative, whether expressed poetically, analytically, or simply in prose, is the most bold, exhilarating medium through which she can define herself and convey her experiences to the world. Her poetry has been recognized nationally by the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. She recently had an opportunity to engage deeply with her Korean-American heritage by reading and analyzing a novella contemplating the prospect of Korean reunification through the Sejong Writing Competition, in which she received first place in the analytical essay category.

In her free time Izzy enjoys having long talks with her twin sister about anything from K-Pop to Chem homework to what colleges they’ll be applying to once they become first-semester seniors.
