Descripción

In "Poetry & the Human Condition," students will explore the universal human condition through various poetic forms and styles. "Nature Poetry" or "Eco-poetry" will allow you to see human nature reflected in the natural world. Students will perform close-readings of poems exploring "Love" and "Heartbreak." Poems focused on "Food" and "Family" will dig into the use of sensory details and elements of tradition, connection, and familial complexities. And, lastly, exploring "identity," you will learn to unpack poems from diverse, global, and hyphenated (or intersectional) voices as a way to see how poetry can provide a vehicle to meditate on our own identities and experiences.
