Born in New Orleans and raised in Brooklyn, Emily Stone writes about pop culture for Salon. Her most recent book is DID JEW KNOW? (Chronicle Books). Emily has been awarded residencies at Yaddo, Blue Mountain Center, and the Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts. In 2009, she co-wrote the short film, PHOTO OP, starring Cheyenne Jackson and Tina Benko. From 1991 to 2014, she taught Latin and Language Structures at Saint Ann's School in Brooklyn Heights. She also enjoyed a decade-long run as a yoga teacher. A genre fiction enthusiast and expert, she continues to be the sine qua non college-essay whisperer. Currently, Emily is working on a memoir about her wife’s conversion to Judaism and completing a romance novel.
